To show cranes in different behaviors and in different habitats is the aim of nature photographer Sidney Smith. He took impressive and meaningful photos of the very shy birds over a long period of time at different times of the year. In addition to taking pictures of cranes in flight, at the roost or during courtship, he was able to document the breeding behavior, brood care and, last but not least, the hatching of the chicks up close.
