The capital of the Free State of Thuringia has a lot to offer: Stroll through the medieval old town center and experience the historic Krämerbrücke, very well-preserved and restored half-timbered buildings, the guild houses on the fish market and the numerous museums such as the New Mill or the Angermuseum. Linger in one of the numerous cafés and restaurants or take a seat at one of the fountains, for example in front of the State Chancellery. Of course, a view from the Citadelle Petersberg over the city is also an experience. You should definitely not miss the Christmas market in front of the impressive backdrop of the Erfurt Cathedral and Severikirche.
