Steinkäuze (Athene noctua)

The owls (Strigiformes) represent a very peculiar independent group of birds, which are distributed in a multitude of species all over the world and can be found in all types of landscape and climatic zones. Despite external similarities - curved beak and sharp, dagger-like catches - and similar hunting and feeding practices - there is no closer relationship with the birds of prey, as is often mistakenly assumed. Their habitat are the orchards, which unfortunately always disappear. The little owls in many parts of Germany are given specific help by setting up nesting aids.
