The Spreewald - a historical cultural landscape in the southeast of the federal state of Brandenburg. The Spreewald was formed during the Ice Age. The melting of the glaciers created small rivers - the Fließe. This river system shapes today's unique landscape. With a size of around 475 square kilometers, the Spreewald is one of the small UNESCO biosphere reserves in Germany.
