South Tyrol the last mills

There was little space to grow grain on steep slopes. Nevertheless, almost every mountain farm had an associated mill to process the grain. With advancing industrialization, the mills have long since fulfilled their purpose. Travellers and hikers still come across individual well-preserved cultural objects.
