Salzkammergut, surprisingly versatile

Immediately behind Salzburg, the Salzkammergut extends over the federal states of Upper Austria and Styria. With the Dachstein right next door and the mountains of the Alps in view, the region is characterized by 76 lakes, including the most famous ones, the Wolfgangsee, the Fuschlsee, the Mondsee and the Attersee. Due to its landscape types, flat Alpine foothills, low mountain ranges and alpine areas, the Salzkammergut is an ideal holiday area, not least for motorhome enthusiasts.
