Quedlinburg - romantic half-timbered houses

Saxony Anhalt in the Harz Mountains west of the river Bode, here you will find this romantic and over 1000-year-old medieval city that is well worth seeing. Its winding streets with ancient cobblestones and richly decorated facades, the Romanesque St. Servatius Church, which sits enthroned on the massive sandstone cliffs of the castle hill, attracted kings and emperors as early as the Middle Ages. So far unique of its kind is the half-timbered museum in the stand construction, which provides information about the history of half-timbered architecture from the 14th to the 19th century and about restoration and reconstruction measures in the city of Quedlinburg.
