Kitzingen am Main

Kitzingen is a bridge city with four road bridges and a railway bridge over the Main, which is extremely rare for a city of this size and reflects the importance of the city in terms of transport technology. The historic wine trading town on the Main is surrounded by numerous vineyards. The largest vineyard is called Kitzinger Hofrat. The largest sporting event is the Kitzingen Main Franconian Triathlon with almost 700 participants every year. Kitzingen is popular with cycle tourists as it is located directly on the Main Cycle Path. Motorhome enthusiasts particularly like to come to the multi-award-winning motorhome parking space. In July and October, the Promenade Wine Festival on the Main and the Ebshäusen Kirchweih are very popular. Kitzingen is known in culinary terms for its egg rings and gingerbread, but also for the wine and vegetables grown here.
