Bodie ghost town - relic from the gold rush (black and white)

Ghost towns are a magical attraction - let yourself be mesmerized by one of the best preserved ghost towns in North America: Bodie near Mono Lake in California. Around 10,000 people lived here during the heyday - but just as quickly as the population grew, it also shrank again when gold mining was no longer profitable. In 1932, most of the numerous buildings burned down. The remaining 170 or so houses were abandoned by their owners and still seem to this day as if their residents had only recently disappeared from there.
