A weekend in Vilnius

Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania and belongs to the Baltic States. In terms of area, it is the largest city in the Baltic States and the oldest university city in Europe. The picturesque old town of Vilnius is one of the largest in Eastern Europe. Because of the more than 50 churches spread across the city, Vilnius is also nicknamed "Rome of the East". UNESCO has included the old town of Vilnius, one of the best preserved old towns in Europe, on its World Heritage List.
