The Weißenhofsiedlung in Stuttgart, also known as Werkbundsiedlung, was built in 1927 by the German Werkbund under the direction of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe by leading representatives of the New Building, partly using experimental materials. Two houses in the Weißenhofsiedlung, along with houses in Argentina, Belgium, France, India, Japan and Switzerland, were included on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the architectural work of Le Corbusier.
