The hanging gardens of Tivoli - The Villa d'Este

One of the highlights of horticulture in Europe is certainly the "hanging gardens" of the Villa d'Este in Tivoli, near the eternal city of Rome. Since the 16th century, more than 500 fountains, nymphaea, water features, grottos and water basins as well as a water organ have been created here. The gardens are still well tempered and cool even when the thermometer approaches 40 degrees in the southern Italian summers. The pictures of the calendar congenially capture the magic of the place.
