Henry David Thoreau's historic experiment at Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts, has led multitudes to journey to Walden Pond and to follow the tradition begun by Henry's friend Ralph Waldo Emerson a decade after Thoreau's death -- to place a stone near his cabin in remembrance.
