The San Blas Islands (Kuna Yala) are an archipelago of approx. 400 small islands, which are located in front of the approx. 200 km long coastal strip on the Atlantic side of Panama. Only 50 of the islands are inhabited and are populated by around 30,000 Kuna Indians.
