Musica fabulosa

These extraordinary photographs were created by photographer and graphic designer Olaf Bruhn. The surreal ideas were realised by a perfect combination of professional photography and elaborate Photoshop composition – seasoned with a pinch of subtle humor. Several hundred individual objects (including some old musical instruments) were photographed with a high-resolution Nikon D800 (36 million pixels) and isolated, edited and composed in Adobe Photoshop CS 6. The working files with all layers, alpha channels and masks are each more than a gigabyte (!) – the print-ready images have a size of 8000 x 5600 pixels.
