Lower Bavarian Vilstal

n the east of Bavaria, the Vilstal stretches between a clearing near Seon in the Erding district and Vilshofen on the Danube. The river, which is largely allowed to follow its natural course here and which gave the valley its name, is lined with oxbow lakes, wet meadows and dense alluvial forests. Tranquil towns such as Taufkirchen with its enchanting moated castle, Vilsbiburg with its magnificent town square and Vilshofen at the mouth of the Vils and Danube offer wonderful photo opportunities.
