A picture from the calendar 'SILBERRÜCKEN VIATU' by Matthias Besant. The animal photographer Matthias Besant has now compiled impressive portraits of the leader of the western lowland gorillas in the Frankfurt Zoo, the Silverback VIATU, after his first photo-calendar 'MENSCHEN-AFFEN-KINDER'. The pictures on the 12 calendar pages show the variety of facial expressions of one of the most beautiful silverbacks, which leave the viewer a lot of space for individual interpretations. Viatu was born on December 20, 1998 in the Basel Zoo and has been living in Frankfurt Zoo since 2008.
