Borgholzhausen Gingerbread City

Borgholzhausen, the northernmost point of the Gütersloh district on the edge of the Teutoburg Forest, which is known beyond the borders of the country for its gingerbread bakery, among other things. Ravensberg Castle is a striking landmark on the way to Bielefeld. But in recent years the castle has had to relinquish its supremacy in favor of wind turbines, which can now be seen from afar. In the immediate vicinity of one of these wind turbines is the Luisenturm with the Luisenturm hut, a place to stop for refreshments on the weekends (note the times!). A natural stage can be found on the same slope in a former quarry, where concerts and theater performances take place just like in Ravensburg. Borgholzhausen is also known to the population by the synonym Pium.
