Algarve - Portugal's picturesque coastal landscapes

In the south of Portugal, nature's master builders have created a wild landscape with rock formations, grottos, tunnels, arches and boulders. The sculptures, modelled by wind and water, show themselves as impressive formations in the turquoise blue waters of the ocean. This stretch of coast in the western Algarve between Cabo de Sao Vincente and Faro is called the Rock Algarve. Like works of art made of sandstone, the countless highlights of the Rock Algarve line up along the almost 100 km to the south-westernmost end of the mainland.
